Art Republik magazine, in its second year, refined its visual and editorial scope — as well as doubled down on the big and dramatic.
These four issues were the most experimental, as visually, the envelope was pushed to incorporate more crazy ideas and the very limits of what was possible to be done at the printing press, with silkscreened plastic cover overlays, a "holofoil" Pokémon-card-type cover on issue 6 — the second year's issues were one of the most popular, and iconic, not to mention the most hefty coming in at close to 300 pages per issue.
The second year brought coverage on more diverse characters, and well as more diverse voices contributing to the magazine. Notables include, the sprawling feature on buzzworthy Singapore artists in 2015, the perceptive, philosophical interviews with the Nissan Award nominees, as well as the extensive coverage on the always underrated, yet deeply intellectual and effervescent and exciting Indonesian art scene in issue 7.

A homage to Andre Saravia's 'Dream Concerts' artwork series.
